Beering around South Belper

Undulating 11 km (6.8 mile) walk through fields and woodland with the Derwent not far with a fair amount of road walking, too. Easy public transport options and parking available in Duffield. Options for cutting short or lengthening to include surrounding villages. Noted opening times are for a Saturday.

Semi-urban loop walk from Arnold

14.7 km (9 mile) walk taking in local parks and pubs around Arnold, Gedling, Mapperley and Woodthorpe. Two steep but short ascents over Mapperley. A good walk for winter as mostly on paved/gravel surfaces.

East Leake loop walk via West Leake

12.6 km (7.8 mile) walk with only one short sharp hill start/finishing in East Leake (accessible by NCT bus). 3 pubs are included on the map, along with a spot to see alpacas!

Matlock loop walk via Matlock Bath

9.6 km (6 mile) walk with a fair ascent (total 474 m) starting from Matlock station, heading over Masson Hill to Matlock Bath for some chips and then back to Matlock via High tor. Many, many decent local pubs to visit!

Cromford - Matlock walk via Lea, Tansley and Lumsdale Falls

Another Matlock-area route to afford more pub visits! A 10.25 km (6.4 mile) walk with a fair ascent (total 425 m) starting from Cromford station and finishing at Matlock station, taking in lots of villages on the way.

Hucknall loop including historic villages and sites

Fairly flat 17.5 km (10.8 mi) loop walk from Hucknall inc. Linby, Papplewick and Newstead Abbey. Lots of easy public transport options to Hucknall. Plenty of fab pubs too.

Hucknall loop including historic sites around Annesley Park

Lightly bumpy 13 km (8 mi) loop walk from Hucknall inc. Newstead Village and Annesley Park. Can be extended (+5 km) to includes sites in above walk.

Calverton loop including Gravelly Hollow and Oxton

Lightly bumpy 15 km (9.3 mi) loop walk starting and ending at 'Calverton' bus stops around Calverton with picturesque points and the multi award-winning Old Green Dragon pub in Oxton.

Bakewell loop around Monsal Head and Thornbridge Taproom

Lightly bumpy 13.7 km (8.5 mi) loop walk starting and ending at Bakewell (navigable by bus) with picturesque points over the dales and moorland finishing up at Thornbridge taproom.
